This is so real and underrated. The experience of Asian Americans pursuing dreams is such a hard thing to explain to older generation parents. I remember wanting to be a pilot, a drummer, and a teacher. My parents wanted me to be realistic and were quick to shoot it down. I’m lucky that my passion now is computer science and it’s something my parents support, but I know lots of friends and family that always had to put their dreams behind and settled. It’s a difficult topic and there’s a lot of families that get torn because of this.

Seems just last year, I was at college laughing like crazy at a kid who wanted "white people lunch." Really felt a connection to a TV show that portrays a ton of stuff I went through (half Asian, immigrant mom). Surprised at how much everyone has grown.
