I HAD THIS! Had 10 or so wonderful flights the first month...then it just locked up on me and flew away. What a terrible feeling watching your $1000 drone and $400 GoPro become a tiny speck in the sky. Fun fact: this spring, someone contacted me. They'd found a melted drone in a field (it had been control burned) with a GoPro attached. The card was not melted, they watched the footage, and recognized me. So I got a melted drone, damaged GoPro, and intact card back. Fun times!

I have a Phantom 1.1.1 drone that I bought 8 years ago & it still flies like new! This model features the self tightening props. I installed a 2 axis gimbal to the Naza M module & use a GoPro Hero 3 camera that captures great aerial videos. In order to stabilize the drone in GPS mode you have to calibrate the IMU first. Then you have to calibrate the compass. By the way, this drone does have a return-to-home feature. If it loses contact with the controller it will ascend to 60 feet & fly back to its home point that it marked when it took off & land. You can also initiate this by simply turning off the controller! I also own a Phantom 3 Pro & a mini 2. Happy Droneing.

WOW! We have come a long way in the drone industry....gotta love a drone that can stand the test of time.

Since i own a mavic mini i could probably use the phantom easily for example the opening battery storage and the calibrating

I still have my Dji panthom 1 and thought I could do a cheap FPV drone out of it? Is this possible?

Unfortunately, my phantom 2 with camera no longer works, it flies, but no video. The last firmware bricked the video transmitter and there was no fix. It was a great drone with video, much better than the POS phantom 3 which I crashed more than once for no apparent reason. Phantom 2 never ever crashed while I was flying.

I currently have a dji air2s and mavic 3 classic. My fiances father has the original Phantom its never been flown. Just ordered new battery for it from cut rate batteries. Anxious to get it up in the air.

I mean, if you have a GoPro there is a mount at the bottom. you can connect to GoPro for vision

i have the same drone.mine wont take off at all even on full throttle.cud this b bcoz i used it and the batteries after about 8 months.the nazaM software check in my pc with this droine shows its correctly calibrated

I have a problem downloading the drivers of this drone, my PC is Windows 11 and it marks me that I cannot install the drivers, so I cannot update my drone, does anyone know how I can fix the problem?
