Today we're going to cover some of the basics of fat burning—fat burning 101. When dealing with fat burning, you're really dealing with hormones. 

You have fat making hormones and fat-burning hormones. 

Fat-making hormones:

1. Cortisol 
This comes from stress. Acupressure techniques may help. 

2. Insulin 
Insulin is triggered by sugar. In the presence of insulin, you can't burn fat. 

3. Estrogen
High estrogen can actually stop your ability to burn fat. 

These hormones—especially cortisol and insulin, can keep you from tapping into fat-burning. If you're craving sweets, you're not sleeping, and you're tired—you're not burning fat. If you're trying to lose weight, it may be more beneficial to focus on lowering these hormones rather than triggering the fat-burning hormones.

This is so true to me before no matter I do I can't loose weight and my LDL is very high. After following this I lost significant weight from 185 to 156 lb in 6 to 8 weeks! I avoided whenever possible all grains and almost everyday I eat fresh organic vegetables like lettuce, three to four free range organic eggs and cold pressed coconut oil.

What is the difference between animal fats and vegan fats in terms of insulin resistance ?
Animal fats increase it for sure and we don't want high blood sugar, but is it true for vegan fats too?
I'd say yes but I don't see any studies on this so I don't know. Can you test it ?

Even low glycemic index foods raise insulin significantly enough. Also the body has systems in place to store fat even when insulin isn't raised.'No fat burning for 48 to 72 hours' do you have sources of valid studies? Same goes for 'if you are craving sweets you are not burning fat' do you have sources of valid studies to confirm this?

Not hating btw just being critical.

I just made a comment about how I'm struggling losing weight on different Dr. Berg video. I am a teacher and is it summer time (no demands) so my stress levels are low. The school year is very stressful, so yes this is a problem then. I'm going to reduce any possible carbs and see if this makes a difference.

So, Dr. Berg (I am a nutrition counselor, so I am very interested in what you are saying here), are you suggesting they avoid eating fruit and whole grains? Is that "sugar" in your example above? Or are you talking about refined sugars only?
