I remember seeing this on TV as a young man. As the clouds rolled by, I thought "This reminds me of Superman flying". I had no idea there was going to be a Superman movie. I was so excited. This trailer brings that back. Thanks.

No posters. No announcements. Woods Theater 1977. Great sound there. This comes on. Some already sensed it. They stood, hands held high as if at a concert. Some slowly cupped their mouths. People in the lobby came and stood in the doors. People up the isles on their way to the restroom paused and turned to look...out of respect. That beautiful horn ensemble supporting those billowing clouds. Huge Biblical tone. No Star Wars. No Alien. Something majestic was incoming. The credits streaking past your mind branding into your gut. Then the colors. Red. Blue. Yellow. Then the "S". We all knew that "S". Then...the cheers. What a grand entrance into our collective anticipation it was. The genre had arrived and what better heavy lifter could introduce it. It was about time. His time. Thunderous applause. Afterwards, it was quiet. And then they applauded again. I saw people BECOME Superman fans that night. One year later, Chris delivered by air. And we believed him. First class. On time...and for all time.

Superman The Movie was my number 1 All-Time Favorite DC Superhero Movie that Richard Donner from the director of my all-time favorite movie The Goonies and the Superman Theme is awesome and amazing composed by John Williams.

This was used almost a year before the movie came out. Richard Donner showed this to the movie crew when they were at low spirits and it sparked up everyone when they went back to work on Superman. Somewhere out there is this same video with the John Williams Superman theme used instead.
