RX 6600 turns out to be the sweetest spot in GPU industry...a true budget GPU with decent performance

Props to Linus for not just building such a solid team, but for building out a media empire which has managed to show the different talents of each of his staff members. Techlinked was a stroke of genius and it has made me far more likely to watch a video that isn't presented by a familiar face. I think Linus is well on his way to having a media empire which is set up where people don't even know that Linus is a person's name rather than a brand, much like when people say Apple I don't think of the fruit

This card is currently going for 250$ on amazon while 3060s are still 400$ + lmao
Seeing it trade blow for blow with the 3060 is a really cool milestone for a 250$ GPU

That was an advertiser transition worthy of Linus himself, well done Anthony

This gpu is actually good now because the prices right now are almost the same as the rtx 3050 and this is way better than the rtx 3050

"a price you won't believe" covers pretty much any GPU by now

Yes Anthony, you should do a video "Is the GPU you are stuck with good for 2021?"

I remember when 1080p sounded like the most insanely high resolution. I grew up playing games that were 240p/480i and I remember viewing 480p as a luxury. Then the whole 720p vs 1080i debate came along of which was better, but then we got "full HD" at 1920x1080p and I remember feeling that it was just an incomprehensibly high resolution. Now it's seen as pretty much the bare minimum standard and disappointing. Maybe I'm slow, but it's still a jarring concept to me. Maybe I'm just getting old.

The 6600 is great value right now! You can get it for only $300, while the 3060 is like $430, and the 3050 is at a higher price than the 6600 but has less performance.

Why spend the marketing budget to advertise a product you know will sell out?
As far as marketing is concerned, releasing a new graphics card in 2021 is free real estate

I can't be the only one who stopped caring about GPU news knowing that I'm not gonna get my hands on one any time soon.

"Learn Linux with Anthony" series please.

Spread the word so they'll see.

I miss the days of when $100 could pickup a good enough gpu.

So we've got 2023 now and I picked up an Asus RX 6600 barley used for 200€ (Germany). I'm using it with an Ryzen 7 2700x and it also has a decent 1440p perfomance. I can run all my games on 1440p with a minimum of 60 FPS. E-Sport titles are always around 200 FPS. For gaming and just doing everyday stuff on your computer, the card is absolutely great! I really recommend this card if you are looking to build a 800-1000€ PC.

I'd be genuinely excited about this if it were available at a reasonable price. Even a 3060 at RRP is a bit above my price grade, but if they were to undercut that by like £50 or so as it probably would've had we had normal prices, I'd've been all over this. 144fps @ 1080 is all I'm looking for. RT, as well as in game stuff like motion blur, lighting effects etc. can really go suck it as far as I'm concerned.

Gotta support Anthony. I always enjoy him as a host. I can't wait to see him do science experiments with steam OS on the steam deck.
