Time doesn't exist. Time is actually the area of least resistance. we do control the area of least resistance like a game of swingball with yourself. In a game of swingball with yourself you control your own future self by hitting the ball to yourself, and collecting the swing from yourself. So that is a lot like consciousness.

Why is the non-conscious necessarily "automatic"? I fail to see how there being "latency" between the choice and the experience of the choice points towards the idea that consciousness is an illusion.

Even without backwards time referral, could there not be parts of the subconscious that are
"free" even if we are not immediately consciously aware of that freedom until shortly after the fact?

I would wager we simply don't understand consciousness enough to say definitively one way or another.

With the emphasis on could proof
Seems like the free will thing will never end, causal will does exist, causal choice does exist. Since causal choice exists, the choice is "caused" and not upto you, because it's not a free choice. If choices are uncaused, then those wills could be free since the ability to do otherwise exists, but the ability is not yours, the will is not yours, as it's uncontrolled, random and uncaused.

The Will takes place in the Noetic faculty of the Heart, not in the Rational faculty of the Mind which operates in the brain. Can scientists start exploring the Noetic faculty of the Heart?
