YouTube always sees me as Shorts when I'm actually 5'11.

Make sure your video's aspect ratio is 9:16, has a quality of 1080p and above, and it's 60 secs or less.

I think our video on pc screen is Horizontal whereas shorts need vertical video. If YT keeps automatic upload for shorts, Horizontal video will only take middle shorts, and you will miss all other video coverage both sides. If I am wrong, experts can guide me generously.

What if you use the hashtag and upload a vertical video under 60 seconds, but the URL doesn't say "shorts"? Now what do I do?
