I think I am still failing to understand *how* it is actually fully decentralised. There are still centralised homeservers that you have to create an account on and if the homeserver goes down then well you have to make yet another account on a different homeserver.

Until decentralised accounts are a thing it's just a collection of centralised systems that can talk to each other and not fully decentralised...
