Such a helpful video. In the UK they haven’t got single motor c40s to test drive but that’s all you can get for the foreseeable. This video really reassures that the car still offers a great experience - albeit without the 400hp giggles.

I'm glad that I blindly choose this color when my dealer told me about it on MY2023, I only see the rendering picture not even the real color plate. Can't wait till next month for the car to be delivered to be driving it into the sunset like you did, gorgeous colors from volvo as always.

So, in Ireland, they are priced so that P6 single engine with Ultimate trim (so all of the bells and whistles, Harman Kardon, sunroof, heat pump, ...) fall under government grants which is €5k euro. This means P6 with Ultimate will cost me some 55k euro. And if I take dual engine, the price goes above the grant limit, so I lose the 5k free money and the car costs more. So the price difference is so large due to this that it makes no sense to buy P8. Yes, 400 HP is nice, but I cannot use that driving in the city.

I am in far away Australia, your videos, and others, have persuaded me to commit to purchase on a 2023 XC40 Recharge single motor. I live in. A regional city in NSW, Australia. The range offered on the 2WD with expanding charge points across Eastern Australia gives the range and all the performance I need. Delivery to me will be February 2023. Hej Thom, ik ben het helemaal met je eens. Wij hebben nog geen haast met de beslissing voor de XC40. Dus als in 2024 de P6 Long Range uitkomt, gaan we daarvoor. Voor onze trips naar Sverige is de P6 Long Range de uitkomst. Goede uitleg wederom. Tack så mycket.

Hi Thom, I’ve a P6. I’ve tried multiple different IONITY chargers. Preconditioning using google maps. Always below 20% state of charge and in temperatures 15-20c but have never achieved speeds faster than 132kw. Do you know if the P6 is restricted that it can’t achieve 150kw?

Thanks so much for the video, Thom, very helpful. I have a general Volvo EV question, if you have any insight: do you think with additional OTA updates Volvo's EVs will ever get a power provide/camping mode? Whereby you can use the batteries to provide power to other sources via the AC cables.

Thanks for this video! I also drive the XC40 P6, and I wonder did you experience some vibrations in the steering wheel when you accelerate? I did not feel that in the Twin version. I only have the P6 until I finally get my long awaited C40 Twin.
Power wise I think the P6 is sufficient, but it would only be a valid option for me if it had the big battery and thus better range. Especially if you say consumption wise both are at par.

Nice video Thom! 👍🏼 From my experience in my Polestar 2, is more than enough in the 99% of situations. Volvo should include the 78 kWh as Polestar does for more range.

For me, it is the best combo for the EV. Don’t need the 408hp most of the time
