I drive a 2022 version of this car, 34K miles and no problems other than a front strut top bearing that got noisy and was replaced under warranty. It’s my daily driver, work vehicle, and checks all the boxes for me. Tows light trailers well too. Range estimate is 170-220 miles (winter-summer respectively) with recommended charge at 90% max to help battery longevity. A bit pricey but a solid vehicle

I love not having a start button. That is so much better to me to get in and leave and then not worry about leaving it on

I just got the Volvo XC40 last December. The MY24 Twin drive version in north Europe comes with the 82kwh battery. Though I am missing the heating option on the back seat even though I got the ultimate trim.

What magic dust does Nathan use to keep the XC40 spotless when there is slush everywhere?

The fact that there no start button is the greatest depending on your preference. If you'd like to turn it off, hold the play button for 3 seconds.

Bought the previous year model right before the Fed credit went away. My mother loves it. 20k miles so far. Range is spot on and adequate for a “eastern seaboard” car. Only have ever had to fast charge 3 times. It’s slow but who cares if you rarely use it.

We're on our second XC40, and we'll likely get a third when they do a BEV-only redesign one of these years. Nathan said it best - a well sorted design. Also a timeless exterior design language - the XC40 will still look good two decades from now. A bit of chrome bling on the inside, but not so bad it offends.

Have the 2023, (which is even the same trim and color), with 14.5K miles. I have only had the fender flare come off from a puddle (somehow). The only other issue I've seen is a exterior sound system malfunction, which went away after about 15 mins of letting it sit. Drives great, doing sharp corners does make the tires screech really easily, but overall great handling otherwise, (and quite quick!) I also keep it at a 90% limit, and get on average 180 miles year-round (or up to about 200-210 if your gentle, and have the A/C off).

For me I dont think a start button is needed.

I was going to go with this car, but I was one of those "Early Adopters" and pre-ordered a Fisker Ocean. Less cargo space, but I don't have kids, don't golf, don't haul stuff, just do outdoor things so it's fine with me. In Denver, if you guys want to check it out. Sorry, its an Ultra, not the "One"

I had a Volkswagen Golf for my last car. Was really torn between a Tesla, BMW or this Volvo. Choose the Volvo because it was the best money value and the 2024 update was available for order. The Tesla model 3 update was not yet announced at that point and the i4 was just not for me. Hope it was the right choose. Should get my new car in may.

To make it clear Volvos are still built and developed in Sweden that didn't change when geely bought it.

It’s not the battery it’s the efficiency making up for the range difference

Just got a XC40 Ultimate Twin MY24 here in Brazil. Still the 78Kwh battery - I think the whole America get this pack, not the 82Kwh one. I don't really miss the start/stop button at all, but no EPB and no auto hold?? Why?? When I stop at a traffic light with no car ahead, either I have to keep pressing the brake pedal or press the P button, and then press the brake pedal again and move the lever to D. The cost cut on this harmed the car drive car experience in a point that became an absurd shortcome. Absolutely ridiculous. Volvo should be ashamed.

I drove one a little while ago and its regen braking never felt smooth to me. Was always jerky as shit. Wonder if they smoothed that out.

Own a V60 Polestar. Have a reserve for the EX90.
