Ok so from reading comments and stuff here are my thoughts:

1. If you move around a lot (e.g traveling for work, school, business) A laptop is your best friend.
2. If you want to use your computer for other things such as school projects, a laptop gives the necessary portability to take it where you need it.
3. A PC will most likely always outperform a laptop, especially if both computers are the same price. However that doesn’t mean that a laptop can’t run games, they can, very well if you buy the right type.
4. PCs require much more room than a laptop, it is important to plan where the PC will go.
5. PCs also require much more setup (keyboard, monitors, speakers etc) so laptops do become more fairly priced after taking that into consideration. But no matter what you get you’ll need a mouse for sure.
6. If your parents are divorced, laptops all the way.
7. PCs allow more freedom and customisations such as lights and specs.
8. PCs are much easier to get parts replaced but a laptop is easier to clean.
9. PCs are more powerful at a base level, you can buy a external GPU for a laptop but it does sacrifice a lot Of portability.
10. Not that anyone really cares, but laptops are nicer on your electricity bill.
11. I personally love watching movies in bed, that’s a reason I love my laptop.
12. PCs are usually not as warm as laptops because they have lots of internal fans. A laptop will get warmer and most likely louder the longer you have it on.
13. my last tip is this: you can make a laptop or a PC good for gaming, don’t get upset if you have been forced by a parent or financial situation to get one or the other, they both have strengths and weaknesses.

Hope this helped anyone along their way! :)

My parents are divorced so the gaming laptop might have to be the option 😭 Update: over one year later, I can update you guys that I purchased a gaming laptop and then sold it not long after to purchase a desktop because the quality is way better. I bring my desktop back and fourth and even though it is more of a struggle, I have greatly improved at video games.

I’ll get a laptop because of cable management and it’s easier to transport

If I'm on a vacation trip I'm not going to bother playing videogames. If I'm staying at home and being lazy, guess what I'm going to be occupied with... videogames. Desktop is the obvious answer.

Unless you’re going off to college, a gaming laptop isn’t worth it

I wouldnt buy a gaming laptop because ist not worth the prize and because i dont need to move between a lot of places during the day.

You might think that the disadvantage is that i wont play during vacations guess dont play during vacations because i wanna enjoy them.

Laptops are trash when it comes to gaming, trust me. I’ve basically gamed on laptops my entire life. They usually only last 2-3 years and are hella expensive, they are just not worth it in the end.

I’m getting a laptop just to introduce myself to pc gaming and then when I have more money I’ll make an actual pc

You want more power but don't need to transport the rig house to house? Get the desktop PC. You use it not just for gaming and travel? Get the laptop. Easy...Buying a new rig? A PC needs: desktop, monitor, speakers, mouse, keyboard, mouse pad, headset maybe, laptop need a fricking flat surface and nothing else.

Laptops for portability, plus if you have a TB3 you can still use an eGpU for future upgrades.

I was thinking about buying a gaming laptop until I realized it simply isn't a viable option unless you absolutely have to. Desktop is the way to, you get more for less and it lasts way longer.

This is just my opinion and experience if you have the money I highly recommend a PC because there more powerful and better performance and you can keep it forever by upgrading parts sure there not portable but I don't think people need that because they run out of battery really fast and there's almost no way to game comfortably unless your on a desk and the fans are so hot and loud if you put it on your lap its going to hurt.
