For anyone confused, none of the British Leyland cars survived to this day for the comparison.

zastava is Yugoslavian, polonez is Polish, only Lada is soviet

The lada will lap this kinda stuff up. Uncle had a lada 4x4 hatchback when i was growing up. Awful car, uncomfortable, noisy, rattly, terrible on fuel, and dog slow to boot.
But it never failed to start, never broke down, would go anywhere in 12" of snow even on cheap naff road tyres, and would do 30mph across a horse field without batting an eyelid.
Finally died at 29 years old when a taxi ran into it and bent the chassis.

I was born in Yugoslavia and I had no idea before now that I’d spent my childhood in Soviet Union. I’m pretty sure a lot of Polish will be surprised too.

I drove a pontiac Aztek for a couple years, thing had well over 100k miles. It had some minor issues here and there, but boy it was a smooth ride. Even the most skeptical members of my family were instantly won over after driving it. Love that thing.

The irony is that those were the worst cars produced in America versus the best cars produced in the USSR

Not a single American will disagree with the Aztek being a terrible car. It was the perfect storm of early 2000's GM quality built from the entire reject parts bin, and styled by a blind 3rd grader. I don't think I have even seen one on the road in the last 10-15 years.

Actually 2 of 3 Soviet Union are Fiat models (fiat 124 and a hybrid fiat 128 restyling) that were made under license in CCCP and Jugoslavia.

That's a heap of crap. All suposedly Soviet Union cars are based on Fiats just in different disguises. So basically there was a contest between American and Italian cars.

Lada being built like a tank is a myth. I have seen plenty of them falling apart on normal use. Only reason they hold up is their simplicity. On their face value, they are horrible cars, that are backed up by masochistic sense of nostalgia. I will never get one ever again now that I have a choice to buy something western or asian.

I don't understand the hate on the PT cruiser, would definitely have one.

I'm staggered by the voume of comments saying this is unfair, (mainly yanks?) because there are no British/French/Polish/German/italian, etc, cars.
This is entertainment, not car testing!

Getting things straight:
FSO - Poland
Lada - Soviet Union
Zastava - Yugoslavia
