Dr. Aqeeb, part of the delegation representing junior doctors, expressed frustration after a failed dialogue with West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee at Kalighat. Despite compromising on demands for live telecasting and recording the meeting, no resolution was reached. The delegation had sought justice for RG Kar rape and murder victim, a case tied to the arrest of Sandip Ghosh, whom they accuse of committing institutional crimes. Disheartened by the lack of progress, the junior doctors vowed to continue their protests until justice is served and all those responsible resign.

In which verdict Supreme court said that live telecast of meeting between junior doctors and WB CM cannot be done? Which matter is subjudice? Only investigation matter. If investigation matter cannot be discussed with public then how can she discuss those things with junior doctors? The 5 demands of junior doctors have nothing to do with matter subjudice. The doctors are not feeling safe to work under such health secretariat, and that is doctors' mandate and it should be accepted. If TMC says that people mandate is accepted so they win election why not accept doctors mandate in the health sector? What permission of Supreme Court she wants for video recording? Are we the public idiot? We cannot see that CM changed her statement then and there. First she tells live telecast cannot happen because of Supreme court verdict then she says for video release to public domain Supreme court permission is needed. Then she herself made the decision that videography will be done from our side and it will be released sometime after case is completed at Supreme Court. All 3 statements she said within 5 minutes. A CM who keeps on changing statement like this cannot be trusted.
CM said about minutes of the meeting to be signed by both the parties. But this decision cannot be taken then and there by junior doctors, they need to discuss with all representatives coming from atleast 26 medical colleges. If CM can take time then why not junior doctors? When the junior doctors agreed to do meeting by then Sandip Ghosh has been arrested by CBI news had come out. CM was very much aware. So it was best for her to not do any meeting with junior doctors at that time. That message of no more meeting was given to junior doctors by Chandrima. There is nothing wrong with junior doctors. They are fighting for justice. They are creating pressure because they are sure about who are at the wrong. If doctors do not feel safe at workplace then common people or government have no right to force doctors to work there. If we need honest doctors in the system then we have to support their fight. CM should be CM and not hold grudges against these doctors. They are fighting to clean the system and CM should be supportive of that rather than feeling insulted.

This is sO atrocious.
If the WB government were committed to the welfare of the public, here public health, it must have had long ago negotiated, arrived at consensus, and facilitated resumption of duties by the justice seeking doctors.
The government doesn't have to have dodged the talks for 35 long and ordeal day.
The very go by of these many days at the expense of the ailing public speaks volumes of the government's concern for the public health and the under facilitated necessities of the life saviours at their duty places.
Unpalatable.
