They built up Sting as a legend and an icon, only to have him lose his first (and ultimately only) Mania match. And for what, so Vince/Triple H could bury WCW once again and to have a hollow nostalgia-bait run-in by the nWo, which Sting wasn't really even a member of? Really, what did Triple H have to gain by winning? The Mania match was the blow-off, so they should've had Sting win so he'd get over as the legendary threat he was supposed to be and so he had heat going into his next feud.
