Sting single handely carried the WCW, Hogan played his part but Sting was just something else. His gimmick is that of legendary status, the guy could sell a promo without speaking! He just became a symbol and an icon, a walking presence!

This could never be replicated in the modern age. Everything was perfect to make this kind of thing possible back then. When you watch wrestling from this time period you are watching a kind of magic and lightning in a bottle. One man didn't speak or wrestle for over a year and yet kept the world on the edge of their seats unlike anyone in the business has ever done.

Probably the greatest storyline of all time....Sting didnt say a word for a year and still the most over wrestler....Him and Austin was on fire at this time....sucks the starrcade 97 match ended the way it did....the build to that match was like a heavyweight title boxing match
