Dude, thank you! It freakin' worked! Got the rotor off my front wheel (small car); I used a 1/2" cap screw, with the above-prescribed nuts and 1 washer. Cheers!

Thank you man! That worked when everything else I tried didn't. I was worried about bending the caliper mounting ear, so I took a round bar and braced it between the inboard side of the ear, and a solid place on the frame. Because I'm working at the front, the bar doesn't have to be an exact length - all I had to do is turn the steering wheel until the bar was trapped. Then I threaded my bolt through the hole, and tightened it. Sure enough, with some bolt pressure (although not a ridiculous amount), PING! The rotor was loose. What a relief! 👍

You rule. WD40 and torch failed to loosen up the rotor but your trick popped it off in seconds. Thank you.

After hours of trying everything else (hammer, heat, PB Blaster), this worked! happy to hear that first pop! I had to use a Grade 8 bolt and nut. The general stock bolt and nut (Grade 2) that I initially used stripped after several ratchet turns.

First time doing maintenance myself and I have been meant to rust welded part at every step. Finding your tip and seeing so many positive reviews makes me excited to go give it a try too! Hopefully it works for me as well!

Thanks for the idea. The rotor was really rusted and basically welded together. So , I did this and rotated rotor 180 degrees .You have to be very easy with to not damage rotor in this case. Rotated 185 degrees this time and repeated the same . Crack down on bolt only 1/2 turn. PB blaster and persistence paid off.. Did not damage rotor and reused no problems.. So this video really helped me with a big problem an figured I would share my experience.

Update, It worked!!! Sure was much easier than trying to bang it off with a sledge hammer. Thanks for the tip.

Just a quick thanks for posting this. It worked great today. It actually pulled the bearing out, which was what I needed done anyway! Once it was out, it was easy to get the rotor off and finish the repair.

Hello. I come from Germany. And I also had a problem with my brake rotor not getting them off.
When I saw your video with this trick, I tried it out on my car. And it worked super well. You are a super hero! :)

Bro, I had done this for a wheel bearing removal on a 2011 Explorer. Notorious for being a huge PITA. Never thought about it for a stuck rotor. Picked up some grade 8 bolts and rotor popped off in three minutes.

Thanks for helping use my head.

Thank you for this. I have a Mercedes that had new pads and rotors but sat for 10 years. I broke 3 socket extensions and only got one rotor removed before I found this. Thank you !!!!

Front truck rotor stuck on like glue... hitting and hammering... nothing...heating it ... nothing...rented a puller with lots of torque...nothing. (There goes the whole day trying...) Finally saw this video ~ using simple tools ... and presto. It came off quite easy. THANK YOU!!!
