Rusted / Stuck Steel Wheel Quick Removal Trick

The steel wheel on my Pontiac Vibe (Toyota Matrix) was rusted to the hub - this is how I was able to remove it.

Don't try this on anything but steel wheels! It will damage coatings on other types of rims!

This worked better than anything else I tried. Actually, it's the only thing that worked. Thank you! BTW, don't forget to put the anti-seize on the rims when they go back on!

I had an 1/8 of an inch built up rust between the rotor and rim. It took the constant force of a small bottle jack pressed on the inside of the rim with a wood block and applying a torch on the outside. Stand back cuz it popped off like a champagne cork. Heat does the trick. Thanks.

Some heat and some "Mother's Oats" did the trick. Guess that was the "Vibe"

Most times if you hit the tire with the same amount of weight and mass of the tire it will come off. I use the spare tire and take a couple nice strikes and I’ve had luck everytime. That hammer is too small

Loosen the lug nuts one turn off from snug and drive it. I skid, turn ect in the yard until I hear it come loose.

I sit down in front and double hell kick the low edge of the tire. Hasn’t failed me yet. I’ve gotten some real batards loose with that move.
