Where did Hayes and Pacific source their axles and transmissions? And the majority of their engines? I wondered if they were mostly Cummins, mostly GMC/Detroit, or something else.

Fine looking rides. I can just hear one pulling a load with a 12-V or a 3408. They'd look fine all shined up. TYhanks for a 5 hour road trip. Glad you did all the driving!

Ever been over to Port Alberni? Between the Mclean Mill national historic site, couple industrial heritage centres and the home of the Challenger logging trucks I'm sure you could fill a day in quite easily. The guy who produced the Challengers recently got a pair back and is restoring them, quite the trucks and an excellent guy to talk to.
