Ankle pumps and seated heel/toe raises do a great job of increasing the circulation to your legs and increase oxygen to your blood so they can help prevent varicose and spider veins. They are also easy to do almost anywhere.

Another great treatment is Compression stockings, hose, or socks. The folks at JOMI Compression have several different sizes and colors. Their thigh high compression hose are a great option to help prevent varicose and spider veins, as well as prevent DVTs and help with muscle fatigue.

Now for standing exercises and stretches. The runner’s stretch stretches the calf muscles and Achilles tendon. Heel raises and single leg raises not only do a great job to increase circulation, but they also do a great job of strengthening the legs.

Finally, a squat or modified squat is a great exercise as well.

I’m ab active person and I’ve noticed the spider veins since I was 25 years old and now I’m 33 and I can’t believe this is happening to me at a young age 😢

God bless you Doctor! You're the first person that has say anything about how we can prevent varicose veins. Most Doctors I met only talked about how they're there and that's it. You're the first person I heard that gives some hope that through exercises at least something can be done. 🙏

I’ve been struggling with piriformis syndrome and had a really bad vein popping out that ran from my thigh down my leg, did this everyday for 3 weeks along with some piriformis stretches and THANK YOU SO MUCH. Im going to keep this stretch in my daily routine.

Im 25 and have been noticing some Green veins on my legs and they make me so self conscious :(

I believe I developed spider veins at a nail salon when the nail tech was deep massaging my lower leg using a lot of pressure, to the point where it hurt badly. I was about 55 years old at the time. My patch of spider veins are located on my right lower leg (1 leg only) and are located about 2 inches below my knee.

Questions:
1). I was wondering, do I need to still wear two compression stockings if I only have spider veins on 1 leg?
2). Could I wear the knee high stockings (which I prefer) based on where my spider veins are? Thank you for posting this useful video, we so appreciate the info!!

Thank you, I'll definitely start using these exercises. So easy to do while sitting down. Are there any specific exercises for venous insufficiency in a thigh? Also, would tight compression sleeve be helpful, or are compression tights more suitable?
