This video shows you how to install a front strut mount on your 2003-2008 Toyota Corolla. If your vehicle is equipped with struts as separate components, rather than a complete assembly, eventually you may need to replace the mount.

This repair was done on a 2008 Toyota Corolla S 1.8L Sedan 4-Door FWD Automatic and the process should be similar on the following vehicles:
2003 Toyota Corolla
2004 Toyota Corolla
2005 Toyota Corolla
2006 Toyota Corolla
2007 Toyota Corolla
2008 Toyota Corolla

Tools you will need:
• 19mm Socket
• 21mm Socket
• Strut Spring Compression Tool
• 3/8 Inch Impact Gun
• Safety Glasses
• Wheel Chocks

The free play in the two lower bolts on the strut DO have an impact on the alignment. I’ve personally tightened the top bolts before I put the lower two in and it gets the alignment way closer to the actual original. And yes I have tried this doing bottoms first and it’s way more out of alignment.

Thanks, do you think there should be a rubber mount on the top between the chassis and the strut Mount, or it's always without a rubber layer. Was just thinking it could help take some sound and vibrations off the chassis.

What if the top mount is having a small gap after is install and when turning the weeel the top hit the side of wall and make a clunks noises strud is new top mount and

The upper spring seat rotated out of it's original position when you tightened the mounting nut. Does that not matter?
