NAS Builder by NewEgg

Saw this today and thought I would share it with you all. A Network Attached Storage (NAS) builder which was put together by Newegg to help us pick and choose the right NAS for our needs. The tool allows for configuration with hard disk (spinning rust) or SSD drives. You can choose from different networking solutions from 1 GB up to 10 GB/. The tool shows how much disk you will have depending on the RAID level you choose as well as showing the amount of power you can expect to use.

NAS is the next big project I want to dive into. Beelink sent me some very well suited machines for that. Can't wait! 🙏 Thank you very much for this presentation, DJ!

Thanks for producing this video. Didn't know NewEgg had a tool for this, but makes sense because there are a lot of products out there and it's hard to differentiate (just like the olden days of LAN Parties and build your own gaming rigs from Computer Shopper).

I wish I'd seen this a couple months ago. I just bought a QNAP 932PX which has 2 10GbE and 2.5GbE ports standard. Tossed in 5x 22G drives and 4x 1G SSD's as cache.I also expanded the ram to 16G so I can run VM's on the thing. Well under 700 clams for the enclosure.

build your own with freenas and old server equipment using ECC ram.
That is very expensive. And I would trust one of my old i7 3770K that has never crashed before this, even without ECC memory
