First video I ever saw on this channel was on the story of Loki becoming Sorcerer Supreme, and I still feel like Dr. Strange channeling the power of Yggdrasil to instantly turn a hellish dimension full of demons into one of sunshine and bunnies was a pretty outstanding feat.

Old Dr. Strange would complain that the Darkhold is only a beginners level book and that there are no versions for masters.

My favorite was in 'What if the silver surfer got the infinity gauntlet ' where Strange had a counter for everything the Surfer could do.

Pre-Ret Strange’s power levels never bothered me because his stories were always more exciting experiments I’m story-telling psychedelia then Steve Rogers v. Hitler - especially the Ditko era. They always came across more of a how far out can we go and come back in a single issue/arc; that’s why Strange has always been my favorite and why all the fans of his appreciate thee ole’ days to now. Power levels was more for avengers, strange needed endless abilities because his was more how far can we bend our imagination..

Strange was literally the most broken character in comics in the 70's and 80's. He HAD to be powered down or else he'd literally jump off the pages.

There’s no such thing as “Pre-Retcon Dr Strange”, in fact, I’ve never heard of anyone on any comic forums or YouTube channels even call him that considering Dr Strange was never retconned. He’s always been referred to as Classic Dr Strange

This is the Dr. Strange I grew up with. It annoys me that he's so nerfed in the MCU lolz it was unbearable to watch him be so belittled in the Multiverse of Madness movie lolz

It's a pity the title wasn't more popular in the late-70's, and especially 80's. It had solid writers like Chris Claremont and Roger Stern, and brilliant artists such as Marshall Rogers, Paul Smith, and especially the great Michael Golden, all usually being inked by the X-Men's Terry Austin. I've still got my collection, and I'll be keeping Doctor Strange.
