If you're a Veteran who has been approved for VA disability benefits, you may be wondering when you'll start receiving your payments. The answer to this question depends on a few different factors, but one thing is for sure: you will eventually receive what's called VA Disability back pay.
VA Disability back pay is the lump sum of money that the VA owes you for the months (or years) between the date when your disability began and the date when your application for benefits was finally approved. For example, if you were injured in combat and became disabled as a result, but it took two years for your VA disability claim to be approved, you would be owed VA Disability back pay for those 24 months.
