About ten years ago, when I looked for an alternative to MS office Open Office was the clear choice. Several governments like India had chosen Open Office as their default office suite. At that time I found Libre to be somewhat glitchy. Although Open Office has served me well, I'll have to take a re-look at Libre.

I find libre to just be more refined in its daily use than Open. Which is sad because Open started first, and Libre was a fork. Now Libre is the one that seems to be the big open source alternative to MS OFFICE.

Been using Open office before it is called open office. It has helped me to make my fortune. I'll stick with Open office because... IT JUST WORKS.

I just want to know how to get my Open Office excel files into Libre. Windows 11 (ABOMINATION) has hijacked open office and I cannot add or remove items.

In LibreOffice, how would I make function key F4 do what it does in MS office? Also, I'm missing the "insert cut/copied cells" function which inserts a line or column without losing any data where its being dropped? Thank you.

LibreOffice 100%. OpenOffice had been out-of-support for many years. They're back on updating but have very small few developers left to maintain the project, they can barely do few minor glitch fixes. All the Linux distors have moved on from OpenOffice to LibreOffice. At this point, OO is not an option to consider

@1:23 NOT like Google docs, AOO is based on Ms Office XP - 2003, while Libre is based on Ms Office 2007 upwards

When you work with large spreadsheet, the old UI is much much better !

Also too much click when using ribbon style, most 3 clicks in ribbon, only need 1 click in old style UI.

Open Office is a piece of crap. Reformats documents at will, won't accept the commands available in its own menu, definitely not user friendly...although my pc is also a cheap POS, so maybe they just can't get along. Wouldn't recommend Open Office (or HP computers) for those reasons.
