The reason Pam’s painting goes missing for a few episodes is due to the fact that there is a deleted scene in which Erin is cleaning around the office and accidentally ruins it. Kelly tries to help her fix it but actually just paints a rainbow and a sun on it, quite funny. Guess they needed it repainted after that and simply used something ‘random’ in the meantime.
