Gives me gut wrenching nostalgia like nothing else. Close my eyes and I am 13 years old again, sat on the end of my bed facing a 21" Sony Trinitron T.V and fat PS2 thoroughly engrossed in FFX. This song always makes me think of being on the beach after the Crusader's failed attack on Sin. Seeing the absolutely immense loss of life, so many people killed that it almost feels unreal, and with such a sense of futility, like they never even had a chance...this song really captures that sort of numbness and melancholy I remember feeling in that scene, like you're just sitting there stunned because you don't want to believe what just happened.

Alot of games I play end up feeling their age as time goes by. It doesn't quite matter how impressive the game is; I can just tell what era they are from. It is what it is.

But each time I play Final Fantasy X, without fail.. I sit back and have to realize, this game will be 25 years old in a few short months.

This game is nearly old as Pokemon Crystal, Smash Melee, Silent Hill 2, Ico...

All games that, at least a majority of us, probably perceive as old.

When I look at this game, when I hear the voice acting (I know thats topical, but I seriously think its pretty good..), it feels modern. It feels like it could've been released a few short years ago.

The graphics can look rough at times, but considering this was towards the very start of the PS2's lifetime, it's beautiful.


Flaws and all, this is the rare time I can comfortably say that this game is timeless.

Hearing this theme takes me to being 20, high AF, playing this game for hours. Some areas I’d sit and listen to the music, like this tune. I couldn’t find the remaster disc so I’m playing the OG FFX and loving every single second. This music feels like home.
