In this video we learn how to set up a proportion to find the atomic weight of part of a molecule. If we know the weight of one of the elements in a single molecule, then we can find the total weight of that same element in a larger molecule.

Why didn't you just cross multiply 3600 by 16 then, divide by 18? You still would have gotten the same answer: 3200.
