Inverse Proportion | Ratio & Proportions | Maths | FuseSchool

In this video, we are going to be looking at Inverse proportion. You may have already looked at direct proportion, which is how we describe the relationship between two quantities which grow by the same scale factor.

so hi everyone there is wrong quotion in this video so wright quation is given below =( Y is inversely proportional to X^2 and if y = 20 when X^2 =9, form an equation in terms of Y and find the value of Y when X^2) // so don't waste time in solving wrong problems and but the answers given is right

I finally got it. Thank you for the video!

The constant is how long the room needs cleaning time.

If nothing happens to the room.

It needs 15 hours of cleaning. It doesn't matter how many people there are. 15 man hours are needed.

A portion of man hours is given to each cleaner.

The cleaners are paid the same, so they do the same amount of hours.

The room needs 15 man hours of cleaning. If one person cleaned it, he would work for 15 hours. However, if more than one person works, then one person doesn't need to work ALL the man hours, instead just a PROPORTION of the man hours.

The job must be done. The cleaning takes 15 hours no matter what. If 5 workers clean the room 15 man hours is divided between them.

How many HOURS not MAN HOURS does each worker work?

Answer: 3 hours .

15/5=3

It takes 15 man hours to clean the room. No change. However, if we have 10 workers cleaning it up, each worker doesn't work the 15 man hours but their portion of it.

How many HOURS not man hours does each worker clean for when there's 10 workers?

15/10=3

Thanks Sir! I studied a lot from Vidya Guru videos as well. I must say, their recent videos are so nice to learn from. I am regular follower of their channel.

Inverse proportion is difficult to solve and understand than direct proportion. Inverse proportion is the first level of difficulty in maths while learning and thinking is needed which strains the mind in terms of making it work.

Electricity is produced in two ways, which is direct electricity and inverted electricity. It is power measured in watts. Electricity is useful for living better life and not a basic need.

very clear explanation! however, there are missing words in one of the question of your presentation, y is inversely proportional to *the square* of x. And also, for the same answer, the square root of x and x are overlapping and not clear. You might want to change them. thanks!
