Living Alone After 60 - We Need To Talk

Hello and give me a virtual hug right now! I share with you my thoughts on living alone at 65 during this moment of global crisis. I chat about the things I am doing to cope....and Desi helps me too. I did not talk about volunteering because if we are over 65, we are high risk, so what I tried to do was go through things that are helping me feel mentally connected to my world. Our mental health is so important and just doing things that bring us and others joy I feel is so important. I talked about talking to my son Chris and Sean..and seeing a picture of my sister Cindy that means the world to me. We are strong...we are connected.

My love to you all....I am here to listen...I know we all are. we are going to get through this terrible time and be stronger and wiser for it. We are a growing group of strong women here on this channel that adores and understands one another and we care so deeply about our world.

Sky Therapy 💜 Yes, we're allowed to be. I'm now understanding the lessons of my parents, how most of us here grew up with parents from the Depression Era. And YES, they were The Great Generation, and we are the last generation who experienced pre-technology, and of course, I thought growing up that my parents were crazy, all of us actually eating leftovers from home cooked meals, stores closed life was much simpler. I just commented today that I've become my mother! I'm blessed to find joy each day, and blessed to feel connected to this community. Hi again from NJ...I love your apartment and wish you would show us how you decide where to hang your many pictures on your walls and how you put up those little lights in your kitchen area. Your apartment is SO COZY! Also- good luck with your hair highlighting...my sister in NC is also going to try to highlight her blonde hair all by herself for the first time !
How well stocked are your grocery stores out there...ours was void of ALL paper products and pasta two weeks ago and last week there was no sugar and no tomato paste left!? interesting. My mother was raised in Montana so guess they had to make do many times. We are a strong people and we trust in God.

Desi Is so cute, the over bite is precious, I too just bought a box of hair color, yikes have not done my own for years, but like you said were gonna find out all this together. Take care up there in Michigan ( my home state) I live in east Tennessee now but have many friends and family still there and we will all get thru this together. (:

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR YOUR VIDEOS. I HAVE BEEN SEPERATED FOR GOING ON SEVEN YEARS. IT HAS BEEN ONE OF MY BIGGEST BATTLES. I LOST MY SISTER AT THE AGE OF TWENTY THREE WITH CANCER. THAT HAPPENED IN THE EIGHTEES. THEN I LOST MY DAUGHTER AND HAD MY FIRST DIVORCE. I THEN LIVED THIRTEEN YEARS ALONE AND BATTLED LOW INCOME TRYING TO FIND WORK AND SO ON. WHEN I MOVED TO THE SMALL TOWN I AM LIVING IN I MET A MAN THAT WAS WORKING IN THE SAME WOOD SHOP THAT I WAS. WE HIT IT OFF RIGHT A WAY AND GOT MARRIED. WE MARRIED IN THE EARLY NINTIES AND WE STAYED TOGETHER FOR TWENTY FIVE YEARS. THEN ONE DAY HE CAME HOME AND SAID HE WAS NOT HAPPY AND WANTED TO SEPERATE. BOY THAT REALLY KNOCKED THE SOCKS OFF ME. SO THE BATTLE IS HERE AGAIN, ALONE NOT MUCH M0NEY AND LIVING IN A VERY TINY APARTMENT I THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN FOR BEING THERE

Hi Susan, Desi is so adorable.I thought he was going to say "hey mama, that's not how you end the video".I was alone until my son came back from university.He was going to stay at his university accommodation but decided to come home.His university year has ended so he will be here for six months.Next year he graduates and follow with a Masters.My son is transgender.His life was made hell outside his home for most of his teen years, actually all of his teen years.He is the most respectful, sensitive, socially aware person I know.He put a Van Morrison poster up on my bedroom wall last night.I spend most of my life in bed so he thought I may as well have Sir Van to look at, besides Elvis offcourse.Yes, I'm gonna be just fine.☘️💟🇺🇸🌈

I see extended families still gathering and I cringe - look what happened in New Jersey - so many family members died or in critical condition. Stay home people! Please save a life. God is giving everyone a time out to reflect - I hope people rethink what is really important in life.
