I follow the progress of your work with great interest. I run a 3-53T Silver in a forestry machine and the fuel controls does not give me satisfaction. Hope you will rebuild your governor and fuel controls. Great job and well done videos!

Thanks for your feedback. I need to see your going through your governor. The DD book is not all that clear and I appreciate your tricks and warnings. I have a DW LS governor and for any reasons works great when engine cold but after warm up if I rev the engine it will maintain idle at higher rpm...( guessing 1200). If I put it in gear rpm will go back to 600. Back in neutral if I rev it it will stay at 1200....looks like when hot there is something holding the governor to run freely.

Will you now paint it silver? Or will it be classic alpine green again? Looks great! Looked up timing in my manual, after a certain serial number they all had advanced timing, but the vast majority look to have been built with standard timing. It should start easier with standard timing!

I might have missed this but what did you lube the crank with? Crisco? Assembly lube? The magical STP combo in the Royal Purple squirt bottle? :)

Random question. Can you port these for improved performance? I mean, if people do port any two stroke diesels, I've never heard of it. I had a ported chainsaw... So obviously it would work.. But a ported two stroke diesel would be BA
