I've heard that breathing exercises can also lower blood pressure. Personally I found that not watching the news helps.

2006 I was diagnosed type ll diabetic. Quit sugar, caffeine, carbs to a minimum, no salt, lots of water, no alcohol and started walking. Weight went from 272 - 186, BP is now 112/70. Never felt better.

My pressure automatically reads 160/90 when I go to the doctor, at home it's in the mid 140s over mid 80s. The Dr. prescribed Losartan; took it for a month and then asked myself "why?".
I then came across this video and learned about flaxseed, bought a pound and a flour mill and started putting 3Tbs in my morning smoothie, after 1 week I was down to 120/70. First time something like this has worked for me. Thanks

"Some of our astute followers have noticed me slurring my words. I am not drunk but working with Brad it would be justifiable. I had 6 infected cysts removed from my mouth (noncancerous) and I have residual scar tissue and numbness. I will try to do better. Thanks Bob."

My mom takes her blood pressure every day and she’s fine. She goes to the doctor and then it shoots up. He put her on medication. One of the side effects has been loosing hair - shes 88 and had beautiful hair. She’s in perfect health and now she’s on meds just bc she’s scared of going to the doctor. When I went with her I just told her to breathe and smile and made the nurse take her pressure twice and it went down! It’s ridiculous how fast they throw meds at people.

2 things that will bring my blood pressure down 10-20 points, always, without exception: Going on a 5 minute walk around the block, and/or taking 10-15 deep breaths.

It is so strange my doc never mentioned that. I found it myself.

I am a visiting nurse. When my first BP reading is high, I assess for causes like medication, pain, anxiety, and need to use the restroom. After some time, and correcting the possible causes, I ask my patients to close their eyes, deep breathe trhough the nose a few times, relax and remain still. This usually brings that blood pressure down up to 10 15 points.

I told my doc, that I was doing these things and she was furious, and slammed the door as I refused to take a third HBP med... hence I go along with you totally..

I went to intermittent fasting and low glycemic diet. My blood pressure now went from 140/90 to 110/70 and lower. I’m off blood pressure meds since they drop my BP too low. I also had lost 40+ lbs 2-3 years ago due to cancer, but my BP had remained high. I went to a healthy keto and fasting to help prevent cancer reoccurrence I’m a 78 yo woman. Now I have to be careful that my BP doesn’t drop too low.

Dear Brad and Bob, I want to thank you for this video. I have been struggling with my blood pressure, taking medication, then supplements like Beets and hawthorn berry. These all worked but more on the fringe of working, but not well. I watched this video and went out and bought some Flax Bran from Smith's. I have used it for 2 days now and my Blood Pressure is great now, I feel great and no more head aches when I get stressed or tired. Thank you so much for this little Gem of a tip. (For those who want to know, my BP at last reading was 138/77 My highest BP reading was 205/97)

When I adopted Keto diet I was able to quit my blood pressure meds. Last reading was 118 / 68.

I was advised by a doctor with Houston Methodist that the reason most people appear to have higher bp is because when you go to the doctor or sit down to take your own bp, you do so immediately after walking which elevates bp. I was advised to relax for several minutes before checking, and to also average multiple readings. I've also seen a direct correlation between the size of my gut and the numbers on the machine.

Sunlight, fresh air, and grounding (bare feet in the grass) did wonders for my blood pressure. Strange that my doctor never mentioned this while writing scripts for unnecessary drugs. I did not tell the doc I quit taking his drugs on my own and lowered my blood pressure from 150/90 without meds to less than 120/80 without drugs consistently for years now. Finally the cardiologist said there was no reason for me to come back any more. The receptionist said I was the first person in her 20 years working there that was released with out dying or moving. Message - healthy people are bad customers.

As an African American male and 48, my blood pressure is 105/63. I just fast everyday for 20 to 24 hours and eat one big meal after I work out. I’m 9% body fat.

I was watching a cardiologist who pointed out that part of the problem is the changing goal-posts, and the fact that the things we worry about with high blood pressure are only loosely correlated with that number.

For example, in the 1970s a healthy blood pressure was thought to be 100+ your age in years. For me that would mean, in the 70s my blood pressure, 140/90, was perfectly within healthy bounds. I’m 59, so my top number at 159 was considered healthy in the 79s.

But I’ve studied statistics to an intermediate level - not an expert but more than most. As we age - regardless of blood pressure, mortality/chance of dying increases. If our blood pressure increases as we age and mortality increases as we age, someone who only has a basic understanding of statistics will think the blood pressure is what kills you, even if blood pressure just increases with age but does not affect mortality in and of itself.

Then when he started digging into the efficacy of blood pressure medicines - not in reducing blood pressure, but in reducing mortality - the numbers are not good. Blood pressure medicines only seem to statistically help 1 in 20 users of those medicines.

I’m not a doctor, but the moving goalposts - especially as overall mortality has increase instead of dropped in the US - has me not all that sure blood pressure is the thing I had always thought.

Bob and Ray are great, but I have severe qualms about the medical industry. Make blood pressure guidelines more restrictive - what’s the harm? And it increases the number of paying patients!

This is a major problem with American medical practices.

Same thing happened me. BP started creeping up. Decided to lose weight and eat more wholesome foods. Eliminated processed foods, stay away from grains and do 24 hour fasts 1-2 times a week. As soon as I lost 10 lbs which took about 3 weeks, blood pressure was back to normal.

Have had high blood pressure for 3 months. Took your advise to add Flaxseed… in 2 days, went back to normal. I could not be more thankful for the advice! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

I use the same tape every night. It really helps me sleep. For awhile there I was constantly waking up and thought I needed a CPAP nightmare machine. The very thought of going through that - no way. The tape takes 10 seconds.

Nitrates in leafy greens or beets lower BP too.

For a lot of people, hypertension is connected to insulin levels. If you get your insulin levels under control, you are likely to see improved blood pressure. I found this out by accident. Through routine labs, I found out that my sugars were too high and I have insulin resistance, so I made some dietary changes. Went on the ketogenic diet with intermittent fasting, and started taking Ceylon Cinnamon supplements daily. Well, not only did my blood sugar drop, but so did my blood pressure, which I was not expecting. I went from 140/90 to 122/80. I haven't seen it that low in more than a decade.

Nexcare works well. It does not stick to the lips. Scotch tape sticks and there is gum residue left on the skin. After two or three weeks I did not need it and was able to sleep through the night without waking myself up. Flaxseed also has Omega 3’s so I add it to oatmeal, smoothies, on salads and other foods.
