the way Johnny Depp is such a movie chameleon and every role he is given, he always understands the assignment

the part where he goes “everything in this room is edible, even i’m edible. but that dear children, is called cannibalism and it is frowned upon in most societies” lives in my mind rent free

18:50 this is based on when Tim Burton went to visit his dying mom, and discovered she'd kept a binder full of reviews for every single one of his movies

He said "we need the money more than we need the chocolate" ummm Charlie ur acting like u didn't leave the change from the $10 in the shop when u ran out with the ticket... 😭

Fun fact about the Bucket house: that's the reason why Roald Dahls widow gave the green light on this movie. She said it reminded her of Dahl's famous writing shed, and Burton happily told her it was designed to look like that for that exact reason

I love this film a lot more than the original, though the original was great too. They have different vibes and lessons. The original was more sinister and it was about Charlie learning that being honest and Loyal will reward him in the long run. This new one feels more like how a child imagines the inside of a chocolate factory is like, and its lesson is Willy Wonka learning that success can never fill the hole his missing family made. This one with Depp just feels more rewarding to me than the original one does.

“I always hated chocolate”
She’s an alien, it’s not possible to hate chocolate.

I never saw Wonka giving Charlie the ladle of chocolate saying how he looks starved to death as a burn. I always saw it as him showing genuine care for someone who he saw probably comes from a poor household and wanted to give a kind gesture to someone who hasn't insulted him or given him a bad impression and saw potential in him. I'm probably looking too deep into this but that's just how I always looked at it.

I always laughed when a kid was getting hurt and the ompa lompa’s were just having a whole dance line

It wasn't until I was older that I realized how awful the kids were. Kinda sad.
Plus the amount of work Danny Elfman, Tim Burton, Johnny Depp, and Helena Bonham Carter had to do for this and Corpse Bride is commendable.

THIS THE THE best interpretation of a book, in my opinion. Literally nothing is made up, unlike the golden geese in the older version. Everything is straight from the book. Even the Chocolate Palace! And I love how they really thought about how willy should look like. Like he is very pale, because he haven’t been in the sun for like 20 years, so it would make sense if he was pale. Or how he’s a little odd, a little awkward, because we haven’t been talking to any actual person in over 20 years it will make sense to have social problems, unlike the older Willy Wonka for some reason has a very normal skin color, and has great social skills.💁🏻‍♂️💁🏻‍♂️🧐 I also really like her in every song in this movie, or literally the words Word for Word from the book. “Augustus Gloop, The big and greedy nincompoop” literally words from the book.
I also really like how everything in this movie is very odd, like pot polish very interesting to look at, nothing is realistic. That’s because when Tim burton made movie, he wanted to make it look like as if it was from the kids point of veiw. For example in the inventing room, realistically there would be no point of colors or gadgets, everything if wacky inventions, just like how a kid with a imagine what an inventing room like.
Another thing he does, that I love, is that he really makes you hate these children to death, like the other contestants. Because in the other one, they’re not really mean, there more rascals.
I’m also not a big fan of chocolate either, because it’s too sugary, I’m a more bigger fan of dark chocolate I hate white chocolate though.
And one last thing, if anybody is reading this, the whole reason why Wonka has a very “😀😀” sort of face every time the kids get hurt, or in danger, is because he specifically made them go through all these rooms, to Test each and every one of them. Augustus Gloop four the chocolate room, Ruca salt for a room she can’t resist attempting to buy, Violet Beauregard the room which makes gone, and the TV room for my TV was addicted to television. You can literally tell from his face expressions that he was playing this to see if they would resist. Sory that I’m saying so much, I really like this movie and talking about it. 😂😂😂

This was the wondrous film that introduced me to Johnny Depp. I was 10 years old (in 2005). Now, I'm 26 and I've never stopped loving him.
