This movie is low key depressing because he only invited those people to his factory because he was lonely and then at the end he only came to his house to have dinner because he never really had a family growing up because he ran away

In fact Wonka's father wasn't as bad as he is portreyed. He was a good dentist, doing his job, trying to maintain his family. He paid for Willy's braces, as he wanted him to have straight and healthy teeth, and that's also why he forbade his son to eat sweets. The only bad thing about him is that he didn't keep his son home, but you can tell how much he missed him, collecting all of paper articles about his commercial success. He was also proud of him

I swear that Johnny Depp is hands down one of the best actors in the world. Look at how he dedicates himself completely for each role he does, it's crazy that the guy playing whitey bulger in black mass was so many other awesome things over the years. XD

When at the end you find out the narrator was an Oompa-Loompa...

Edit: Wow, I forgot that I even made this comment and you guys really blew it with the likes, have a great day!

I love this movie. And I love the ending. Charlie got the chocolate factory, and Willy Wonka, after being alone all these years, has finally got a family.

0:45 that was 100% genuine. If you watch the behind the scenes, the way she speaks of him shows that she undoubtedly LOVES Johnny Depp! lol Bless her! :')

The ending is too adorable. It's like Mr. Wonka becomes a big brother that Charlie never had.

So the grandparents were able to get out of bed this whole time and all it took was food?

She said boys no business talk at the table. It would be so funny if Charlie says "this business talk is paying for this meal, something you could never do.

I absolutely love this ending! It's so touching. Charlie won a chocolate factory, and Willy Wonka, after being all alone for so many years, got a family.

Got other alternate endings.

Violet: After winning the Factory, she participated in many competitions however during a candy off she lost for the first time due to a steroid test she failed to pass.

Veruca Salt: Winning the Factory not only causes her to lose her sense of reality but her sanity as well. Not satisfied of her victory she decided to not own just one factory but millions from all over the world. She has then became a dictator and caused World War 3, 40 years later she was assassinated during a parade.

Mike Tive: Seeming pointless to have a chocolate factory, Mike has shut down the factory which cause the second Great Depression. Mike has then been writing about all strange logics and science, his books sold so poorly that he believes life is so pointless that he committed seppuku.

Augustus Gloop: After winning the Factory, Augustus has done nothing to improve the factory. He eats and eats and eats and eats every single chocolates, candies, furnitures, animals and even Oompa day later he died from diabetes which his parents took full responsibility of his death.
