This video tutorial discusses issues with 3D NAND, such as WL staircase, big cell size, limitation of vertical scaling, inefficient product architecture, ROI from fab investment, and high ‘Cost-per-Bit’. As an ultimate low cost solution, 3D Super-NAND has been discussed.

Thank you, Mr. Lee. This presentation is an eye-opener to the issues with 3d NAND production and cost. I learned much.

So, is there still something wrong this year versus 4 years ago?

so 3dnand is more reliable? I expected it to be less reliable like QLC vs SLC. I thought 3dNand only increased the amount of storage on a single chip like QLC vs SLC

So, it's manufacturer adoption of the 3D Super NAND design a reality at the end of 2017?

It all looks very impressive on paper.

adoption rate is only for 3D NAND, but all new technologies...once hype is over, money and efficiency talk

I'll take 2TB please (or 2x2TB if it's really 100$). Now somebody just needs to make it as a drive.

The thing wrong with it is the more layers it has the less you can write to it
