I was an engineering apprentice and got my degree in mechanical engineering, but was always interested in art and animation. Decided to leave my apprenticeship 4 years in and switch to animation. As of this month I graduated and already have a position as a Junior Game Animator. Sure it sucks I have to start out as a junior at 25 against a bunch of people that are 6 years younger than me. But I also don't regret my decision...
