Jnr Massias AC milan, also started his professional career aged 25 after being a delivery man. That's a true inspiration to many of us who are much younger.💯

I quit football at 14 and then again at 18 after winning a county championship in England at Ian Wright’s old team (he himself started late and went on to become an England international and Arsenal legend). I made a comeback to semi-pro at 27 and then went one better 10 years later at 37 after a training camp with u21 internationals and young pros from the English leagues. By 38 I was in division 4 of Spain and then moved to division 2 of Morocco and had a 1st division trial lined up at 39. I then went back to consultant coaching, scouting and advisory roles in pro and semi-pro clubs as well as academies and sport associations. Don’t give up… it’s not too late, football will always give you opportunities, you just have to be ready for them.

Turning 20 in a few weeks. Can’t believe where all the time has gone.

Some days I feel hopeless, but regardless I’ll give my best and try to become good enough to join one of the local teams

Matt turner hadn't kick a football until he was 14 so we still have time. And also julio cruz who was a gardener in banfield until the team was a man short so the manager took him and noticed his talent and signed him a contract (he was 20).

I was motivated until I was 24 Now I'm in my 30s. I guess my country is indeed a wrong country to have such ambition. Here if you still don't have a pro contract by 23, you are done, because the sport is badly run and developed which means lack of opportunities. Plus, the reality of life will kick in, the pressure to earn money for survival/ responsibilities etc may make some to give up their dreams to become a pro. But again this video is a good message to those who are still pursuing their dreams, keep going and hustling while you still can and who knows, you will eventually make it

I didn't play football long time about 3 years. I had never trained it, now I am 34 and I am not hunting Pro team that would be too much, but I am hunting to be in the second team, or something like that. Just do it, don't overthink can you or can you not, and focus your mind on repeating, repeating, repeating training, what you eat etc. Until you are enough comfortable to apply for a better league or team. I am in Germany and I dream to apply for Bayern Münich SENIOREN A (Ü32). Even if I don't have any contact next week I should join the local club.

for those who are working hard to be a pro my message to you is keep working hard and when God says it's time, your time to shine you will. be patient and keep working hard behind closed doors.

our time will come brothers and sisters. just believe. and be patient with God.

That player you’re talking about is Freddy Adu! One of the most talented youngsters to ever play football. Unfortunately, he wasted his potential.

Will, thanks for bringing this to the masses. As a ex pro footballer for a USL team I myself started late (34) practice squad contract with other duties. Played til I was 42. Yes it was hard but never let that mindset sink in . It was exciting and made it a challenge to train as well as I could and develop skills that could put me in rolls for the staff to use me . Made so many great friends ( still to this date ) amazing times.😁⚽️.

I like the idea of this video. The Jamie Vardy story is a prime example. Everyone has to write their own unique story even if the path forward is not clear. I played at a high level in high school for the varsity team and my club team. I played NJCAA D1 soccer for two years and then transferred to a good NCAA D2 school to play soccer. I thought my path was clear but unfortunately, I had a really bad foot injury and only played a couple spring season games. I went to several doctors that all said I should stop playing. I thought I was done but I continued rehab, lifting, and conditioning for 2 years hoping to play again at 100%. This past summer I was able to practice with a really good semi-pro team in Dallas, TX and now I'm playing for a UPSL team in Austin. I'm now 22 and way behind, but I like the idea of this video. Great work!
