Just a heads up for any other UK people… it’s VISA Credit Cards *not VISA Debit Cards*

(Which doesn’t actually make up that many credit cards either as afaik most mainstream CCs in the UK are MC (or Amex))

Based on Apple's past behaviour I bet this home service thing is just to try and stop the laws going through and then they'll go back to business as usual, That or a way to try and control the repair side of things too.

Still a nice step but I don't trust them hopefully another manufacturer I trust more copies them as this is one thing Apple has done I wouldn't mind seeing copied. Although if it's just the ability to order spares I already can do that for most Android phones, making them easier to replace I hope is also included.

the statement about amazon not allowing visa cards, gave plenty of us a shock and slight panic.
but it turns out it is just visa credit cards not visa debit cards. debit cards are our main bank cards, which would be a grave problem, i have bought a lot of stuff from amazon especially for business stuff

I’m disappointed with the lack of skepticism in Apple’s new “pro-repair” scheme. They have been very vague as to when this will role out (“next year” could be December 25th) not to mention we don’t know the price of the components, if they’ll be of good quality or parts already destined for the bin, and say you need to just replace the screen but they only sell the whole case - you’re then paying more for parts you don’t need!
