Great Video.  I followed the steps exactly, and I pulled a HUGE hairball out of the drain.  The trick is to really only have a little bit of snake "slack" when turning, and kind of "push" while your turning.

My wife and I were able to unclog our bathtub drain by using an auger first and then the plunger method last. Actually I believe the plunger method alone would have been sufficient due to the auger not pulling much hair out. We filled the tub about 1/4 water, then lightly pressed with the plunger about 3x and it was finished. Took a whole 3min and saved us $200+ easily. Also the type of plunger we used was a $4 plunger from Walmart. It had a longer plunger to it that the traditional plunger. Thanks for the video and hope this comment helps others where the auger doesn’t work.

in my area not a whole lot of tubs get snaked through the shoe, we mostly go through the overflow. .

Is there a overflow plate on the tub, if there is it will give you a straight shot to the drain but you still have to get past the trap then you can get to the clog, it will probably be hair, pull snake out, run water, if still plugged repeat until drain is clear

Magic device! I had my shower drain locked for weeks. I used tons of gel to unblock it but nothing worked. After inserting the drain pipe unblocker I managed to remove from inside of the drain a peace of plastic!!! Now the water goes down smooth!!! :)

I went thru the overflow and got bunch hair out. But still continuing to drain very slowly :( buddy told me i may need to replace the tub because i neee to get under? I cant seem to take the tub drain cover off in order to snake.

What does the snake actually do? does it tear the clog to pieces so water can go thru or are you supposed to pull the clogged mater out of the bathtub?

was able to push the snake only to a certain point.... 11 or 12 ft in and then no matter how much I turned it would't go farther.... Drain still clogged :( any suggestions?
