If you plant a Chinese bamboo seed in the ground and nurture it, you won’t even see any difference for about 5years! But suddenly after 5 years, a tiny shoot will appear and the plant can grow up to 90 feet in just 6 weeks!

People will ignore the 5 years and say that it just took 6 weeks for the plant to grow so tall. And this is ea=xactly what is being happened in the Indian startup ecosystem.

Billion Dollar startups like Zerodha and Physics Wallah have worked on their roots for a long in the past years but they achieved hypergrowth only recently!

These startups employ lakhs of people, and very few might sprout, and grow and only a few will sustain!

Right sir.
Bamboo sprouts expenses to maintain 5 years is nominal.
But a business to workon roots for 4 5 years is hugely expensive and on bonus their is a family to be fed.
For 4 5 months without income and only expenses a family may colapes but sprouts dosnt so examples are not relevent

Being pessimistic is ok. But Forget about profits, 90% of our start up eco system still are struggling to recover the revenues itself and posting heavy losses. I am happy that they are providing employeement for many. I just wish this all start up succed.
