After working abroad, I understood how badly we are treated as humans in Indian work culture. I really wish we get better asap!

And this is why they fail in long run. Nothing can make employee quit faster than an abusive toxic work environment. I worked in similar company and left it for another even though I was getting paid less.

Mainly in india labor act is not good ... that is the reason many companies are playing with people's. We should have rules like from EU.

I joined byjus. Completed the training. Took one month salary without putting a single ounce of pressure to work or perform. And then resigned on the first day of work.

Really happy and proud of myself.

Sometimes employees are also responsible for exploitation. One employee will work till late night, even on weekends which force the other employees to do the same in order to sustain. First we employees need to understand that working beyond office hours should not be celebrated.

I remember i was working as an intern in social media marketing department for a small company with hardly 10 people and 2 of them were owners. I was already doing a work of senior or full time employee was getting 4000 hardly. One day my manager came and said me to work on sunday. As i refused she bullied me infront of everybody. I resigned and left. I was 20 years old at that time and that was my first ever job.

I think interns and employees should know to speak for themselves.

Thats exactly why companies nowadays have anti-poaching or unwritten. The mgmt people in different companies make a loose cartel among themselves and make sure employees dont get hired anywhere without their silent approval in the background. I am sure I am not the only one who has suffered because of this. 😡😡😡

This is the exact issue going on in all the startups there are not able to allocate, align and nurture the talent of employees.

Its not only byjus, it is same for all the sales sector. Mostly the Edtech treat their sales employees like hell.

Let me put up the facts upfront, if you look at the traditional old companies in which there are more number of old employees who work and retire in the same company for 35-40 years do not pay great salaries. But they value each employees and try to provide them all the basic necessities and always create a employee funds so that in the critical time the employees are not laid off or suffer pay cuts. They don't have big yearly increments but they offer other non-cash benefits. Work pressure is relatively less.

But if you see these startup companies, they pay 2X to 5X salaries and expect you to perform 10X. Top level managers think it is possible but it isn't. Employees after certain period starts feeling the real pressure and stress level affects their job and personal life. This affects the company too and layoffs starts as the company doesn't have the welfare system in place. It is the hire and fire culture that is ruining the startups.
