I resonate deeply with Lokelani! Sometimes I am not intentional when trying to teach or correct my kids and I don’t realise that it is not the best way to discipline or show how they can do better. The Lord has been convicting me of this! To be less critical towards my children and to cultivate my thoughts with God before words leave my mouth. Quick to listen slow to speak!

I hear you Lokelani 100%. As a fellow mom of 5 (4 who are special needs, autism to be exact) it's difficult especially when our oldest is non-verbal and he's doing something very destructive not to say "Hey dont do that" very loudly so that he stops. It's unfortunate because our other kids who are a bit more aware do pick up (they script everything they hear) and say the same to our oldest at times and we correct them when they do so. Parenting is already rough but throwing in special needs kids makes its even tougher. Great episode.

As a teacher, it can be challenging at certain times in the day to privately redirect a student, especially because it’s busy and 20 to 30-something kids that are all the same age. I’m actually working at a childcare facility this summer, I’ve noticed some of my discipline strategies and habits I have the want to improve upon.

Hi,
Im really struggling with how to live a life that's totally committed to God and what it really means. Does it mean I can no longer make any decisions on my own, like to go on a hike or watch a YT video. Even in my conversation, I fear that God wants to direct my every word and I'm just really afraid of turning into this robot who never speaks or does anything on their own. I expressed my fears to some other Christians and they said my thinking is wrong but I also heard sermons that kind of confirmed it and Jesus says about Himself that He never does or says ANYTHING on His own, and we're to follow and model our lives after Him, right? But I find it so hyper-spiritual, weird and restrictive and it makes me deeply depressed and isolated. What do you make of this, Alex?
