In my opinion Darton crushed it this year with all of there bows I don’t understand why everyone keeps brushing over them, the Darton sequel 35 was the best of this year by far, I cant find anything I like about Mathews after shooting Dartons bows but to each there own, I just think they deserve way more love in the archery community

In my opinion “bow of the year” deserves a video with higher production value and a more comprehensive test. Brother, you have the friends and resources to provide both.
Get Tim, Dan, yourself and Brandon together and make a weekend out of testing and talking about these bows. I know that’s a way bigger hassle on your end but I think the payoff would be worth it.
I say this because there’s already a “bow of the year” test done by Outdoor Life that I am going to go ahead and wait for that one to come out to make a decision on which way to go this year. I really do believe you do have a way to out do what they’ve got going on but you have to throw more resources at it like they do because it’s a big deal.
Bow of the year by Podium Archery should and could be a respected “award” if given the same amount of consideration.
I still enjoyed the video, I just can’t make a decision based on having watched it that’s all.

Hard to argue with his logic. I like Jake's no-nonsense approach--it's faster, it's quieter, and it costs $700 less. I'm always pulling for the smaller companies to take the title of "best bow of ####, " but if Mathews didn't make a great product, they would not command the market share they do.

Keep in mind this is Joshs opinion its not facts. Everyone has to shoot them all to find whats best for them. I liked Bowtech for years and I went shopping last year with a lot of interest towards mathews lift and left with an RX8. I even had the elite era ahead of mathews lift. The best bow is the one that fits and feels the best to you.

That’s why i chose a Hoyt. The quality control at Hoyt Easton is insane.

I just bought a 2024 evolve ds 33 for 2025 season. Was left over at my local pro shop. Such a good bow. 💪🏽

Shooting a Bowtech in Performance instead of Comfort makes it a completely different bow feel wise. I have mine in comfort and love the draw cycle, but in performance it feels terrible. It’s all subjective in the end. Love the video!

So he said how he liked the Eon's grip, it's dead in the hand & he likes the way it shoots, but it's the 1st bow out? No way

In reality, it’s whatever bow you like the feel of, and whatever bow gives you the most confidence. But, these video reviews help get us going in the right direction. 👍👍

Idea for a video series (as you often ask for what we’d like to see): How about you did a sight vs sight breakdown? So, if I was interested in ordering a Boonie vs Pruf. Or Black Gold vs HHA, etc. Would be cool to see the setup of each sight, axis adjustment and shoot in process head-to-head of the top sights.

I had to rewind to make sure I heard Jake right…. “When the string comes on my face….”

I feel like I wasted 18 minutes watching something that was utterly predictable with Mathews winning

OK just got in town from a work trip pausing this at 0:38 to predict it's going to be Mathews for them. Change my mind😂… OK here we go

When I decided to get a new bow, I have a theory that you pretend that you are blind and let the action of the bow talk to you, not the pro shop not your friends etc. Get the bow that fits your draw cycle comfort level, holding etc. For me it was the PSE Mach 34 (last year) was the bow that I felt was the best for me. Love the draw cycle, holding is hard to describe, if you want to let you down, you darn near have to push it forward which I like. So many great bows, kinda like people all sizes, colors and variations available.

Good video! The Mathews is a great bow and if you don't buy Mathews accessories you'll get a great deal for the money. Glad to see the PSE hanging in there until the end, I like their EZ 220 system but wish they had .10 adjustments. Maybe someone could make those 😉

Could we have a vintage bow review? Just to remind people of how far bows have actually come?

I used to shoot Hoyt, still like them…however…love my Lift X! To be fair, I strongly considered a Darton. Great review, haters hate…

The 2 Hoyt’s are 1 oz difference and his deciding factor between them was weight? 😂
