ℹ️ About the Episode:
RVing can be serious business. We're operating big equipment in tight spaces and dealing with road hazards and obstacles. But that’s what makes it rewarding, too. When we get done with a trip, we really feel like we accomplished something. Overcoming these obstacles and navigating the country is satisfying, and it’s why RV trips leave us with lasting memories.
We've had our fair share of mistakes along the way. Some were our fault, some were not... and this video is all about helping you NOT follow in our footsteps. Avoid these 24 mistakes this camping season of 2024! In this episode, we share the mistakes we'll likely keep making and also some mistakes we'll never make again—if we can help it! If you do find yourself making mistakes this year, know that it happens to all of us. That's why we call it "the dip." It puts the blame on the situation and not ourselves. Plus, dips end on a peak, and the way we handle the situation is how we'll remember the event or the people we travel with. Some of our biggest dips have led to our longest lasting memories!

All amazing tips! I could drive 73mph with my popup. It was the perfect speed. With my travel trailer being 7k lbs and a 1 ton SRW truck. I still only do 65mph. It shocks me here on Utah roads hope fast people go. I recently saw a YouTube person here that was towing 80mph and he said “no one else should do this because I have experience.” I commented and told him how unsafe that was.

Great video. Of the 24 "mistakes" listed, I have personally enjoyed 36 of them.

When we bought our first rig, I bought a throw pillow that reads, "I'm sorry for the things I said while we were parking the camper" just as a preemptive grace for frustrations while getting parked... it gives us something to laugh about.

I see you are planning on going through Indiana - I recommend Turkey Run and Shades State parks (they are close to each other) beautiful canyons- not the landscape you expect in Indiana. Though many of those trails have ladders- so maybe not the best with the dog.

Haha...are you kidding? "I need to take my skin off." My wife had a poopsie yesterday. The aquahot exhaust melted the sewer hose. She didn't notice before opening the black. I won't attach the pic!

Loved the video! I completely agree about the 350 miles and no night driving for road trips, but for single destination trips, we often leave after work, drive late and go to a pullthrough known campground, then finish the trip the next morning. 10000% percent agree about winter camping. My truck is even a RWD, so this pavement princess doesn't leave the garage in the winter!!

Great video for newbies and well seasoned campers. It doesn’t take much to get distracted when setting up or tearing down and mistakes cost time and money. Thanks for taking the time to share and be transparent. Happy New Year!!

I chuckled at the "enter exact location" tip...also traveling at night...😎
We were traveling through Alabama & had decided we were just going to do a quick overnight at a Bass Pro Shops in Prattville, Al.
I had entered Montgomery as a point of reference & was going to change it to the address for the Bass Pro Shops, but, I forgot to do that.
I followed Google maps right into downtown Montgomery, with our 37' 5th wheel....😳
I knew I screwed up as I exited & the sign said downtown, but it was too late at that point.
Thankfully it was on a Monday night & around 10pm so there wasn't hardly any traffic. It was a tense few moments, but we were able to get back on track fairly easily. We did arrive at our destination & once we did, my wife & I had a good laugh over what happened.
We learned the hard way that evening & since then we double check that the address is correctly entered before we hit the road. 😎
