John,  the Google calculator is assuming that the degree measure is in radians.  In my video I had my calculator set in degree mode.  If you set yours in degree mode you should get the same answer I did, and if you set it to radians you should get the same answer Google calculator does.  Hope that helps.

The google calculator gives me the result "8.05485024705" when I tried the "17*tan(35)" problem. Why is this so?

I get everything except typing it into my calculator, since I have a scientific calculator, and it works backwards help!

Why can’t it be cos or the others? Why not use h? How would you know to find the tangent when the question doesn’t specifically ask for the tangent?
