How To Change Transmission Pressure Solenoid/Pressure Sensor/Filter Dodge Ram 47RE

If you're not looking to pay over a grand to have your transmission rebuilt (at least that's what the guy quoted at the transmission shop), try the least expensive route first: Changing the Governor Pressure Solenoid & Governor Pressure Sensor & Filter. It's not a hard job at all. Only takes a maximum of one hour to complete the job.

This is the BEST video I've seen on replacing the pressure switch. Reasons WHY yours is the best: You show it from UNDERNEATH the vehicle, exactly how most guys are going to have to do this; you show it doing it with no helpers, just like us; you show it START TO FINISH, and don't assume we rookies just know things (like about the 'magnet' which we might think, 'hey somebody left a washer in here!'); you tell WHY you used grease in stead of silicon; you told the socket and tork sizes; you told us which side of the filter goes to the transmission. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, your name says it all: Conquer your fears. Most guys are afraid to work on their cars, at least at first! DO IT AFRAID! FIVE STARS brother! Thanks!!!

Thanks, nice vid! 98 Dodge Ram 1500. No engine light. My truck exhibits high rpms in 2nd gear when proceeding from a stop and eventually pops into 3rd and is fine afterwards if maintaining speeds above 30mph. I find if I ease up to 30mph it sometimes transitions smoothly but otherwise operates fine at highway speeds. Had read about this specific problem with Ram trucks and the governor solenoid and pressure switch.

Once again ~ "You show How it's done" all i needed to know was the #$%^& screw driver trick to get the %^&*)^$# connector plug off after sliding the catch back!
Took 1/2 hour find a vid that showed what could be considered "The stupid stuff" but it kept me from breaking the tab! Today you are appreciated in Southern Oregon ~ Dodge 47RE - not so much! LOL!

I've noticed my trans started to slip so i replaced the filter and put new fluid in it and ran good for couple of weeks. Now she wants to slip in to 2nd gear at 55 mph. I didn't know about Ram pressure sensor problems. I have a 04 V6 Ram 1500 with 96 thousand miles.

My car's A/T transmission is experiencing delayed shifting for about 2-3 minutes before it moves forward after being parked overnight or being parked for a few hours. Reverse has no problem. However, once the whole car starts to warm up, the issue disappears. I recently changed my transmission fluid and it helped a little bit as it didn't take too long before my car moves forward after shifting to drive after being parked overnight. Thank you in advanced.
