There’s something tech youtubers need to know, an external monitor is not always an answer, I live in a place where the power outages extend to 10 hours a day in summer and sometimes more. The point is, I went with the 16 inch only for the screen real estate which I can use in power outages, but performance wise, I wouldn’t go beyond M1 13” macbook pro.

A musician's perspective: You also need more RAM if you do heavy composing work with virtual instruments, like with orchestra libraries. 16GB goes far but with big productions, it's just not enough.

Hi, I’m going to be buying the 16 inch MacBook Pro m1 pro but am really confused between 16gb or 32gb ram. As a normal everyday user doing regular tasks along with maybe even 4K video editing while the 16gb ram seems fine I’m concerned about this being fine for the long term and future proofing of the machine. Also paying 400 bucks extra for 32gb ram questions whether it’s better value paying another 200 now to get m1 max. What are your thoughts?

I just got the M1 max (maxed out) I’m not impressed w the performance. I installed and was using cinema 4D and it crashed on me 8X’s and when I added complex animations it glitches. I’m really bummed

Yes. Battery life - tasks completed should be considered as you said. Everyone compares the pro vs max without considering this. Miles per gallon not gallons per hour.
