Edit: surprised by the replies but in general, if I'm paying 4k for anything tech related I'd want it to last a decade or so. Nobody and I mean nobody, especially these video creators, are gonna get even a few years of use out of 1tb. I can guarantee you they (apple) can afford to put more storage in for the same price but they won't because these people are okay with having to use external ssds for storage just to get the performance.

Apple is an industry leader and innovate in wonderful ways such as the M chip. But their practices and manipulation of their loyal customers is why I wouldn't ever want to be in that ecosystem.

My relatives use iPhone and everytime I use theirs it feels like I'm bogged down by apple itself and that the phone belongs to apple and we just leased it for £1, 200.

Even mkbhd is still using his 16 inch m1 max macbook pro from 2021. I don't think you needed to upgrade this soon. I also use an m1 pro macbook pro 14inch and it still works like brand new without any issues.
