Alum Facts
▫️
Aluminium (or Aluminum if you are from North America) is a silvery-white metal, the 13th element in the periodic table. Aluminium is the most widespread metal on Earth, and makes up 8%+ of the Earth's core mass. It's the third most common element after oxygen and silicon.
▫️
English chemist Sir Humphry Davy named the metal, coming up with the name from the mineral called alumina, taken from the French, who had based it on alum, a white mineral.
▫️
Sir Humphry initially spelt it alumium in 1807. He then switched to aluminum, and finally went for aluminium in 1812.

The Odisea build process outs quite impressive! The skill to properly weld and work aluminum is amazing. Following the build via You Tube is fun.

More smart people are going the way of Nahoa like Odd Life and Delos. Alluring Arctic went the aluminum monohull route for the same reason: go to cold climates as well as hot. We will see how all sailing folks experience their new and old creations. It’s gonna be fun to watch.

I wonder if the Nahoa 55 is really being built? There’s no recent news on it build process.

I have been looking at Garcia (Pasoa monohull and Explocat), they look so well built but never sailed either yet. I have gone off Neel Trimarans, thinking it is either a Garcia Pasoa or Alubat Ovni. I also like the Allures, they are centerboard keel like the Ovni and Garcia, except the deck and superstructure are composite so not so sure how they would hold up with hard use.
I need something I can beach daily, so centerboard or even twin keel like a Rienke.
