Many people talk about this price drop on sailboat. I don't see it. I see overprice undesirable boat having price drop so it will sell but no real deal. Catamaran market is still very hot. All I see are very old money pit CAT that nobody wants. By the time you fix up your budget catamaran that is sea going (occasional ocean crossing), you are at $300K US. And then, you need to maintain it. Once the interest rate goes up maybe, we will see a real price drop.

I could fit everything I own and two cats 🐈/ except furniture on these is about the only plus. This sensible/ down to earth/ truthful/ middle class money sailing talks are so needed on social media. Loving this channel

Catamaran are freaking awesome! I like how the resist the waves and they are stable when sailing they have room to walk on bigger rooms, bathrooms, they just make sense. When your sailing you want to go slow and relax, no rush.

Hey Buddy, greetings again from Australia… I’ve been building and sailing catamarans for over 40 years and believe me there are two things that are REAL… 1- there are NO budget catamarans, 2- ALL cats will have bridgedeck slap, yes some more than others as they are lower, but there are no cats that will not slap at some stage and scare the sh1t out of the crew ….. I’m presently refitting my 45’cat to sell and move over to a mono as I cannot afford at my age to be spending what it takes to keep it .. my bank account at my age does not warrant it… I’m spending approx $125k on this major refit on a 35year old solid and exceptionally seaworthy craft … happy to pass on any info if required… keep up the good work …

Happy to have this info. Seriously thinking of becoming a liveaboard and I've been watching lots of sailing videos, etc. trying to determine what would be best. There's so much to consider. Given that I'll have pets with me, I have decided -- for now, at least -- for their comfort while traveling, that a cat or trawler would be best. However, not wanting to be a fuel slave, that left catamaran. I was beginning to feel discouraged, though, that I would be able to find an appropriate boat, that I would like not just settle for, in my price range. I am somewhat encouraged by this video, but still questions left to be answered! I'm also a single, senior female and will have to single hand whatever it is. The quest continues!

Lagoon... Yep... Lots of other people will have bulkhead issues just like you! And there's tons of them for sale for some reason 🤔

nOT sure where you got these prices, but usually add a 100k to any cat you observed here.

Do you have any experience on the Gemini 105MC vs the Gemini Legacy? The layout changed quite a bit and I'm wondering which is the more comfortable alternative.

Good show of open-mindedness. Personally as to catamarans, not a preference. Yet isn't that why chocolate and vanilla flavors are produced?

It’s always my favorite. “I’ve tried both an cats are better. Definitely go trade your monohull for a cat.” Ah, what you mean is go trade your monohull for about a 1/5 share of a cat? Or your 58 foot monohull for a hobie cat?

How about a video for best solo handling boats.

Other than the Lagoon 38 none of those boat have any nice interior space. Deck space sure. The Genini's are equivalent to a pop-up camper and not even that comfortable. At those sizes you are probably much better off in a 40 foot mono hull for less money. Just my opinion but even if I had the money I wouldn't be buying a cat. Just doesn't make financial sense. Plus I don't like sailing by numbers which is what sailing a cruising cat is. There is little if any "feel" when sailing a cruising cat unlike a mono hull. But like Chris said, if a cat is your thing more power to you.

We're a family of 5 currently saving for the live aboard life. We know sacrifices will be made in terms of comfort. As you state, we're not going to live like La Vagabond. What would you recommend we look at?

Why would you want one they are more stable upside than right side

I wonder what boat you would pick if you had unlimited funds for the vessel and maintenance. (I presume no crew.)

i live in Sarasota Florida. housing market is on fire. I have a great offer and plan to close in 2 weeks or so. I plan to try living "on the hook" for about 1 year. looking to spend about 60-75k on a boat then add 20k worth of solar. Looking at Jeanneau and Beneteau. Where is best site to look for boat?
