Entropy and Reactions Problem (AP Chemistry)

preview_player
Показать описание
This is an AP Chemistry-style multiple choice question (MCQ) focusing on entropy (delta S) and reactions. We have to determine which reaction illustrates the least increase in entropy. Entropy measures the amount of disorder in a system. In order to figure this problem out, we need to keep two essential entropy trends in mind: entropy increases as we transition from solid to liquid to gas. Entropy also increases when we create more moles of gas. This problem is particularly applicable to AP Chemistry, but it also is relevant for other exams and curricula, such as MCAT, OAT, DAT, SAT, A-Levels, IGCSE, CBSE, JEE, and NEET.

You helped me get A’s in all of my chemistry courses in high school 4/5 years ago. And all these years later, you’re now helping me understand concepts that I need for my upcoming DAT test (for dental school). I can’t thank you enough for all your hard work!!! Absolute legend

Thank you Tyler, I’ve passed Chem class this past Spring 2023.
The professor went so fast through the material that I barely understood anything.
Your videos are great resources.

You helped me get through my college chemistry classes ~10 years ago. Now I am rewatching your videos to prep for my teaching certification exam. Thank you for doing all that you do and for doing it for so long :) I will be showing my future students your videos.

While trying to digest the idea of entropy i came to the understanding that humans try to answer every question that comes into of brain not so much for the desire for knowledge but the disire to control knowledge. We compulsively chase after the most difficult questions beating the roots of knowledge with fists in the hope that we will discover we are supreme over all. It really is a sickness that we cannot accept our humble place but instead crave the possibility that we can be masters of all. Ego is such a driving force that it can take us out of a good state and force our way into worlds we are unfit for. Man must find contentment yet we seems to prefer the torture of the unknown state. Will we glean peace from our endless quest, i think we will only glean death.
